Songs to inspire a painting - “Hazy”

I love listening to music when I paint. I mostly listen to ambient or classical music as I feel it gives my brain and heart energy inspiration.

To feel colours and movement through music is really magical.

Music with words clutter my brain sometimes and it's hard to think straight.!

I still remember the moment I first heard Miracle by Hazy.

It was dark and cold at 6am one morning and I was listening to the Spotify play list 4am Study | Chill vibes (Youtube Playlist Link or Spotify Playlist Link). The first song was Miracle by Hazy and it just felt perfect for the quiet morning; slow and haunting with an energy creeping up and swirling around.

It was the song that got me out of a funk for my painting that I later called ‘Hazy’.

After hearing that song I blended and created wonderful colours to make something that I am proud of.

It’s still one of my favourite songs to put on to calm myself down and to think.

Do you have a favourite thinking song? Let me know in the comments!

This painting is part of my series "From the Dark", concentrating on starting paintings with a black base to bring out a different quality of colour.
I feel it brings an ethereal glow to the colours.
This one has my favourite combination of crimson, purple and yellow to create a sunset like ambience.
I hope you can feel the energy from it also.
