It was painted on a black base which can be seen in the bottom right corner with the muted yellow and orange. It brings to mind sandstorms and receding light in the evening to me.

Inspired by Sleep Swimming by Gelka.

When I paint I like to listen to instrumental music but also when I am work as it is better for concentrating.

I was listening to the Spotify playlist Brain Food and this soft ethereal song came on with what sounded like crickets. It was so mesmerising.

I knew this one was something to paint to.

At that time I was having a hard time with “Evening Storm”, the colours weren’t coming together and I only liked half of the painting. Hearing Sleep Swimming resonated with my brush and I was able to conjure up a bright yellow corner, like a sunrise or sunset.

Most of the song is instrumental but there is a small verse at the end; sometimes I ponder it’s meaning and the possibilities.

Reality .. could be..

Have you heard this song? What song has captured your attention lately?
